2022: Portion Control

The last thing I wrote was a ticket describing a bug, so, please judge my writing lightly.
2022 was tiring, sad, and amazing, I mean it was 12 months, shit happened and a lot of good stuff followed.
Imagine realising you are your biggest problem and coming up with a plan to make you better by ignoring you. It’s not complicated, it’s just laziness.
I really enjoyed myself this year, I love all the music I discovered, all the people I met and all the in-betweens that I think about and just laugh about. The year could have been better but I remain content.
Key Themes & Key Results
Well, 2022, was incredible. I went from earning 0 per month to earning in $$$ and working on several products.
Let’s go through some of the things I did in 2022;
- Theme 1; 5x My Income: Well in 2022, I did 7.7x and that came with a new problem, I’m terrible at managing money.
- Theme 2; Lose Weight: I weighed over 139kg in June 2022, I lost 15kg, and with that came a new problem, my body started fighting me.
I was having malaria, recurring body aches and insomnia constantly.
Before now, I only got malaria in December and the occasional food poisoning from eating out in Lagos. - Theme 3; Being A Better Friend/Brother: Yeah, I don’t know how to quantify this but I guess I will have to send out a feedback form or something. I’ll just say I tried my best.
2023?

It honestly feels more like another month instead of a new year but what makes it exciting is that it gives me the chance to refresh and improve.
So for 2023, we are going to work with these themes:
- Build Capacity As A Product Manager: There are product managers, that I look up to because they have an impact on the company’s bottom line. That’s what I want to bring to the table as a PM and I intend to break this down into quarterly initiatives.
- Move To 100Kg: I just want to say that I am committed to dying daily. The portion control and workouts continue.
- Japa: No explanation is needed here.
- Building For Builders: I am going to be releasing a lot of stuff in 2022, products and other forms of initiatives like my newsletter.
- Become More Financially Responsible: See, I need to have a $10K emergency fund in 2022. The figure right now is N5K.
Come back next year for results.
